TRANSFERS

FFL Transfer Policies and Fees
At Torchwood Tactical, LLC, we strive to make firearm transfers seamless and hassle-free. While purchasing firearms directly from your local dealer is often quicker, simpler, and more cost-effective, we understand that an FFL transfer may occasionally be necessary. Below are our transfer policies, fees, and requirements to help facilitate your firearm transfer.
NOTICE REGARDING FIREARM TRANSFER FEES
Please be advised that once a firearm has been received by Torchwood Tactical, LLC and logged into our Bound Book(s), the applicable transfer fee must be paid in full before the firearm can be transferred out or otherwise processed.
The required transfer fee is based on the source of the firearm as outlined below:
- From an FFL Dealer to Torchwood Tactical, LLC: $100.00 per firearm (Example: An individual purchases a firearm from an FFL Dealer and has it shipped to Torchwood Tactical, LLC for transfer.) (This also applies to any transfer that is refused by Torchwood Tactical, LLC or third party transfer that is refused by customer.)
- From an Individual to Torchwood Tactical, LLC: $35.00 per firearm (Note: It is legal for an individual to ship a firearm to an FFL Dealer for transfer.)
- From an Individual to Individual: $35.00 per firearm (Note: It is legal for an individual to ship a firearm to an FFL Dealer for transfer between private parties.)
Important: The transfer fee is required regardless of the outcome of the background check, whether the transfer is completed, delayed, or denied. Additionally, if a third-party transfer is refused or the transferee is unable to take possession for any reason, the transfer fee remains due and payable.
No firearm will be transferred out, returned, or otherwise released until the applicable transfer fee has been paid in full.
Discounts on transfer fees are available for First Responders, Military and North Carolina Concealed Handgun Permit holders.
Documentation Requirements:
- If purchasing from an individual, the shipper must include a legible copy of their driver’s license or state-issued ID card.
- If the shipping party fails to provide a physical copy of their FFL (for dealers) or valid ID (for individuals), an additional $40.00 fee will be charged to the receiving individual. This fee is non-negotiable.
How to Start an Incoming Transfer:
1. Notify Torchwood Tactical, LLC by emailing sales@torchwoodtactical.com regarding the incoming transfer.
2. Provide the transferring FFL dealer with a copy of our FFL. A downloadable copy is available online, or you can contact us to have it emailed or faxed to the dealer.
3. Ask the transferring FFL to send an email to sales@torchwoodtactical.com with the following information:
- A copy of their valid FFL.
- Your name, address, phone number, and email address.
- The make, model, and serial number of the firearm being transferred.
Once the firearm arrives, please allow 24-48 business hours for processing. Torchwood Tactical, LLC will contact you when your firearm is ready for pick-up. You will only be contacted when the firearm has been logged into Torchwood Tactical’s inventory. NOTE: Please be aware that “delivered” does not automatically mean it is logged in.
As retailers do not share tracking information with Torchwood Tactical, it is your responsibility to provide that information to Torchwood Tactical. That information can be provided by emailing sales@torchwoodtactical.com. Failure to provide this information will delay the transfer and may result in the shipment being refused.
